The Birstwith C2C Team

Hi there,

Back in June 2008 a group of friends from the small village of Birstwith near Harrogate completed the challenge of the famous Coast to Coast cycle ride covering 140 miles from Whitehaven to Newcastle in 3 days - 21st to 23rd inc. 17 amateur cyclists took part with a back up team supporting them with many of these also completing various stages of the ride to ensure the Village Bike also completed the challenge.

We had a fantastic few days, with a lot of fun and an awful lot of hard work through a variety of weather conditions from glorious sunshine to torrential rain and winds and a few accidents including a broken collar bone but the efforts of all were certainly worthwhile. We are extremely pleased and proud to announce that in doing so

The Birstwith C2C Team raised the grand total of £13700.00 exceeding our target amount and in doing so we believe beating the previous highest amount raised on this challenge. The event was obviously a fantastic success both for the participants in whatever part they played to succeed with this challenge and for the charities we have chosen which included Yorkshire Cancer Research, St Michaels Hospice, The Bradford Ear Trust and Rooky's FriendsIt would just finish off the triumph of the team if you could include us in your achievement section of the C2C guide which was an invaluable help to us in planning the trip.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you should need any further details.

Many thanks and kind regards
