About Blencow Village
The village of Blencow, about a mile and a half beyond Greystoke en route for Newton Reigny and Penrith, is divided by the River Petteril into two small hamlets called Little and Great Blencow.
In the centre, beside the village green, is an attractive pub called the Crown Inn, which serves good food and real ale.
For those wishing to linger and enjoy the local attractions, Ullswater is nearby and is well worth a day cycling around. You can jump aboard one of the ancient steamers that ply this magnificent and easternmost of the Lakes.
