About Morland
The village is believed to go back 1,500 years though fails to make an appearance in the Domesday Book on account of having been Scottish at the time! The church boasts an Anglo-Saxon tower.
Follow the road through the modern outskirts into an attractive centre where the Mill Yard Cafe and Crown pub face each other by the bridge over Morland Beck.
Where to eat
The Mill Yard Cafe, The Square, Morland CA10 3AZ. Converted mill by the bridge. Serves breakfast, lunch and is open some evenings. 01931 714155.
